Written in 1830 by a 14-year-old Charlotte Bronte, this tiny little manuscript which is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, sold at auction yesterday for £690,850. Purchased by a Paris museum it is thought to have sold for at least twice its estimated value.
The manuscript titled ‘The Young Men’s Magazine, Number 2′ is only 19 pages long, has only 4000 handwritten words, and needs a magnifying glass to be read. It also appears to contain an early attempt at a scene which later became famous in her novel ‘Jane Eyre’.
