Book of the Week: 9th April – 15th April 2012

The Boy in the Attic

by David Malone

It’s a summer day in 1973, Dublin, Ireland. A 7 yr old boy is led into the fields to hunt for rabbits, and is never seen alive again. He has been murdered and crucified by his 16 year old ‘Satanist’ neighbour.

This all happened twenty or so years before the James Bulger story, with very similar circumstances, yet not many people have heard the story of little John Horgan.
David Malone has unravelled a story that speaks of Old Catholic Irelands’
reluctance to talk about uncomfortable matters, preferring to sweep things under the carpet – so to speak.

Read to find out the true story of what happened nearly forty years ago, and judge for yourself whether justice has been served.
