Librarian Recommended Reads : The quiet spectacular by Laurence Fearnley

Three strong female characters. One teen with an overbearing mother, one school librarian and one ex-business woman in mourning for her dead sister.

The characters are introduced in separate chapters in the beginning. So when they meet at the end you know how they will interact together. They meet in a wetlands sanctuary in a small town somewhere in New Zealand. The sanctuary is meaningful for them all.

Beautifully written — quietly spectacular. You’ll feel like you have met some new friends — all without leaving the house!
